JPL Warriors Cup U18 Group 4
Our U18 Performance team kicked off their JPL Warriors League Cup campaign with a dominant victory over Sussex RTC at Warblington School. The young team delivered a strong performance, setting a high standard for the season ahead.
From the first whistle, the girls seized control of the game. The team's cohesive build-up play led to two swift and well-executed goals by Annie. The dominance continued as the girls found their rhythm, with Saffiya scoring a stunning long-range effort. Suzie, Annie and Matilda each added a goal to take the lead to 6-0 by halftime.
The second half saw us maintain control, playing with a more free-flowing style. While the goals didn't come as quickly as in the first half, the team's persistence paid off. Annie completed her hat-trick, followed by Grace, who was first to react to a corner kick and smashed in the eighth goal. Alicia sealed the victory by scoring the final goal after her initial effort was saved, bringing the final score to 9-0.
A shout-out goes to Elsie, who played her first competitive match for the Club against her former team.
The Player of the Match award was given to Matilda for her outstanding performance. Her tireless effort throughout the game was deservedly rewarded with a goal.
While the team is pleased with the strong start, they recognize the need to improve and are confident they will continue to get better in the coming weeks.
