It was a much-improved performance from our U12 Performance team this weekend, who showed confidence and determination in a very tight match. The squad, battling through some injuries and sickness, played with great composure, confidently playing out from the back and fighting for every ball.

It was a very close game with both teams creating chances. We were unlucky on a couple of occasions, with some excellent build-up play leading to shots that struck the post and the crossbar. Despite this, Jessie took her goal superbly to put us on the scoresheet.

The opposition coaches even commented that a draw would have been a fair result, a testament to the team's battling performance. Unfortunately, two late penalty decisions went against us, which ultimately affected the final score.

This is a new and developing team, and it's fantastic to see the new players growing in confidence with each game. A special mention goes to Betsy and Sandra for their excellent contributions today. Neve was solid at the back, adapting well to various defensive partners throughout the match.

The Player of the Match award goes to Isla A for a string of excellent saves that kept us in the game.

It was a great team effort and a promising sign of things to come.
