Even the constant driving rain and cold temperature couldn't dampen what was a very entertaining cup tie for our U12 Performance team this weekend. Despite the challenging conditions, the girls delivered a fantastic display of football and secured a well-deserved 3-0 victory.

The girls started the game strongly, immediately putting pressure on the opposition's defence and creating several half-chances. Only a lack of composure in the final third prevented an early opener. The opposition posed very little threat, relying mainly on the occasional long ball toward their strong centre forward. However, the one time they did break through, our GK was required to pull off a magnificent close-quarter save to keep the score tied at 0-0. As the first half drew to a close, our sustained pressure finally paid off. Niesha demonstrated great instinct to slot home a neatly taken finish, sending the team into the break with a crucial 1-0 lead.

Following the restart, the team's dominance in possession and territory truly began to tell. The team built on their lead with two quick-fire goals, both courtesy of the in-form Niesha, completing a superb individual performance with a hat-trick! The team continued to press for more goals, creating further opportunities that came and went. The final whistle blew with the score remaining 3-0, a result that was the very least our control and impressive play deserved. A great team performance in tough conditions!

While there were impressive performances across the entire squad, two players in particular stood out for their decisive contributions. Niesha’s powerful and relentless battling across the pitch caught the eye, and she was rightly rewarded with a brilliant hat-trick. Furthermore, operating in centre midfield, Xanthe was instrumental in generating the majority of the team's attacking play. She put in a tireless shift, ensuring a positive result through her hard work and distribution.
