Under 15 Performance vs Hartland Girls Academy

JPL Warriors U15 Purple Division

Our U15 Performance team suffered a 5–2 defeat against a side that played a very direct and physical style, putting us under pressure from early on with long balls and quick forward play. For long periods, the girls competed well and showed moments of good football, particularly going forward, and deserved the two goals they scored. However, a couple of costly individual mistakes proved decisive and allowed the opposition to capitalise.

Defensively, the team struggled at times to deal with the direct approach, especially when competing for second balls. While the girls had promising spells moving forward, the team didn’t always make the most of the possession. Most disappointing was the lack of players taking responsibility during key moments of the game. The team will need more leadership on the pitch, particularly when momentum shifts against us.

This result highlights clear areas to work on, including decision-making under pressure, defensive organisation, and game management. There is plenty to learn from today, and the response in training and the next fixture will be important as the team look to bounce back.
