Our U18 Performance team showed incredible grit today, once again taking to the pitch with the bare eleven players. Despite having no substitutes, the girls gave absolutely everything and thoroughly deserved to bring the points back home.

The game started positively for the team, who moved the ball well and worked tirelessly off the ball to maintain pressure. However, it was the hosts who opened the scoring completely against the run of play. Not letting that disappointment hinder them, the girls responded immediately and turned the game around with two goals to take a 2-1 lead into the break.

After a productive half-time team talk and a few tactical tweaks, the girls came out further galvanised. They put the game to bed comfortably in the second half, adding three further goals to secure a dominant victory. The ever-willing work rate of the forward line proved too much for the opposition to handle as the lead was extended to the final whistle.

The Player of the Match was Millie, who ran the midfield from start to finish. She controlled the tempo and did everything other than getting her name on the scoresheet. It was a fantastic individual display within a superb collective effort.
