JPL Warriors U12 Green Division
In a unique twist of the fixture calendar, the U12 Performance squad faced Woking FC for the second time in just seven days. Following a heavy defeat the previous week, Woking deserves immense credit for their response, turning this encounter into a much more competitive and spirited affair.
Playing on a compact pitch, the midfield was naturally crowded, but the girls showed great technical quality to navigate the tight spaces. They asserted their dominance early in the first quarter, carving out two goals whilst creating several more opportunities to extend the lead.
The game shifted slightly in the second quarter as the opposition moved to a two-player frontline and the team experimented with positional rotations. During this spell, a familiar challenge at set-pieces resurfaced, allowing Woking to capitalise on a corner and reduce the deficit to a single goal heading into the halftime break.
Thankfully, the squad regained their composure in the third quarter. Although the game became slightly more transitional and open, the girls quality shone through and we restored the two-goal cushion with a sublime finish. The victory was professionally wrapped up in the final period to secure a convincing 5–1 win.
The Player of the Match honors went to Niesha, who followed up a stellar performance last week with an even better display today. Her aggression, power, and tireless work rate were a constant threat to the Woking defence. She was the architect of numerous chances for her teammates and capped her afternoon with a wonderful goal, cutting in from the left before firing a powerful strike over the keeper and into the back of the net.
