Hampshire FA U12 Girls Cup
In a disappointing Quarter Final encounter, the U12 Performance team lost by a single goal to Hawks Community. Played on a small, muddy pitch, the conditions dictated much of the play, with both defences remaining on top for the majority of the match. This resulted in very few clear-cut chances for either side as they battled for control in the difficult terrain.
While our goalkeeper didn’t have a save of note to make throughout the game, she was left with no chance of stopping the winning goal—a true wonder strike from outside the box that proved to be the difference.
Despite plenty of effort and "huff and puff" for the remainder of the game, the girls were unable to find an equaliser. The result marks the end of the cup run, and we wish Hawks Community the best of luck in the semi-finals.
Our Player of the Match is Neve. If work rate alone was enough to win matches, the U12 Performance team would certainly have been on the winning side today. Neve covered every blade of grass on the pitch and was unlucky not to grab an equaliser in the second half when a late effort rose just over the bar.
