Under 12 (Season 2026-27) vs Hamble Club Youth U12 Belles

Our U12 team began their league campaign this weekend in what was an important milestone for a newly formed group. With several players stepping up an age group and others transitioning into performance squads, this opening fixture provided a valuable opportunity for the girls to settle, learn and begin building new on‑pitch relationships.

The game started cautiously, with the team a little tentative in the early moments. An early penalty put them behind, and a second goal shortly after created a challenging start. However, the response was extremely positive. The girls grew into the game, found their confidence and began to show encouraging passages of play while remaining resilient defensively.

With four substitutes available, changes were made towards the end of the first half, naturally affecting momentum, but the group finished the half strongly and competitively.

The second half began with real intent and energy. Although a few lapses in concentration allowed Hamble to extend their advantage, the girls competed well for large periods — around 60% of the match — and showed clear signs of what they are capable of. The next step is ensuring that level is sustained across the full duration of the game.

For a group still developing connections, there were several individual standouts across the pitch, each contributing positively to the team’s performance.

Most importantly, the display highlighted a strong foundation for the season ahead. The girls showed resilience, togetherness and a real desire to improve — all key qualities needed to progress in the top division.

Player of the Match – Isabella

Isabella delivered a superb defensive performance, reading the game intelligently, intercepting danger and dominating her 1v1 duels. Calm, composed and consistent throughout — a fully deserved recognition.
