Our U11 Performance squad has made history in the South of France, officially being crowned Mediterranean Cup champions after a record-breaking tournament run.
Following a dominant opening day where the team scored 25 goals without reply, the girls shifted into an even higher gear for the knockout stages. Facing competition from across Europe, they produced a staggering run of results.
The girls entered the quarter-finals with total composure, navigating the high-pressure environment of international tournament football with clinical precision. Across the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and the Final, the squad netted an incredible 21 goals while conceding zero.
This defensive solidity, combined with a relentless attacking threat, saw them brush aside the opposition to secure their place in the final showdown.
The Grand Final was the ultimate test of the girls' development. They faced a formidable side from Ireland who had dominated the Mediterranean Cup for the last five consecutive years at the U11 age group.
Despite the Irish side's historic pedigree in this competition, our girls showed zero fear. They stuck to their brand of football, outworking and outplaying the defending champions to clinch the victory and bring the trophy back home. To topple a side with such a winning streak is a testament to the talent and grit within this group.
Finishing a European tournament with such a high goal tally and a clean sheet throughout the entire knockout stage is a phenomenal achievement. This success is the result of months of hard work at training and a fantastic team spirit that was evident both on and off the pitch in France.
A massive thank you goes to the traveling parents and coaches who supported the girls throughout this unforgettable European adventure. This victory marks a significant milestone for the club and showcases the incredible future ahead for these talented players.
