The U9 Maroon team started their Hampshire Girls Football league campaign with a fantastic victory over Queens Park. The team put in a great performance, showcasing excellent teamwork, determination, and passing.

The Maroons dominated the opening quarter, creating a number of early chances. Despite their pressure, Queens Park scored on a quick counter-attack to take the lead. The team didn’t let this setback affect them, sticking to their trademark passing style throughout the second and third quarters.

Their patience and control paid off, as goals from Riana and Poppy, along with a brilliant solo effort from Pippa, saw the Maroons take a commanding lead. A standout moment was a stunning goal by Bella, who capped off a flowing, ten-pass move with a superb strike—a true testament to the team's commitment to building play from the back.

The Maroons continued to push in the final quarter, with Aubrey scoring from a well-struck corner to seal a victory.

A special mention goes to Amaya, who earned the Player of the Match award for her outstanding display in the centre of midfield. Playing a year up, Amaya was a constant presence, always finding open teammates and battling bravely against physically strong opposition.
