U9 Cup
Our U9 Maroon team started their Hampshire Girls League Cup campaign in spectacular fashion, securing a dominant victory against Winchester City Flyers on a blustery Saturday morning.
The girls' immediately took control of the game at King George V Playing Fields, showcasing their strength and skill across the pitch. An impressive start saw them race to a lead by the end of the first quarter. While the second quarter saw a slight dip in momentum with only two goals added, the team's halftime response was immediate and powerful.
After some tactical advice from the coaches to use the full width of the pitch and improve their passing, the girls came out for the second half with renewed purpose. Quarters three and four saw a return to fluid, team-based football, with a flurry of well-worked chances and goals.
The impressive victory was a true team effort, with every outfield player getting on the scoresheet. This reflected the team's strong attacking intent and their selfless approach after the halftime break. The win secures the team's spot in the next round of the cup.
Pippa was named Player of the Match for her brilliant all-around performance. She led by example with her composure and intelligence on the ball, consistently bringing her teammates into play with smart passes. She also capped off her performance with four well-taken goals. Well done, Pippa!
