Under 8's Development Autumn Division 1

Our U8 Performance Team made their eagerly anticipated debut in the boys league today, and while the final score didn't reflect their superb play, the team delivered a performance packed with promise and quality football.

The girls quickly adapted to the pace of the game, demonstrating remarkable composure to play the ball out from the back with confidence. Their commitment to building up play through the thirds was evident throughout, as they stringed together impressive passing moves that carved open the opposition. Their tactical awareness to switch the play at every opportunity was a key feature of their dynamic performance.

They showcased excellent football, dominating large spells of possession and applying constant pressure. However, the result ultimately hinged on small margins. A few lapses in concentration defensively proved costly against a determined opponent, leading to some regrettable goals conceded. Furthermore, in the final third, moments of indecisive decision-making meant the girls couldn't quite convert their superiority into the goals their excellent build-up play warranted

A special mention must go to Amaya, who was rightly named our Player of the Match.

Amaya was a shining example of how to play the 'Atalanta Way'. She was incredibly composed in possession, always looking for the best option, and her execution of the strategic switch of play was flawless, constantly opening up the pitch for her teammates. A truly commanding and technical performance!

Despite not getting the result their performance deserved, the coaching staff and supporters were thrilled with the quality of play on show. This team has laid down a clear marker for the season.

A huge future lies ahead for this talented group of players!
