Our U9 Maroon team delivered another convincing and dominant performance today, securing a victory against Hythe and Dibden Youth Bengals. The team’s strength and skill were on full display across all four quarters.

The girls started the game brilliantly, immediately asserting their dominance and taking a quick lead. The girls were sharper, stronger, and quicker to the ball all over the park, ensuring early control of the match.

The second quarter saw the team remain calm and composed in possession. Focusing on building play from the back and utilizing the width of the pitch, the team patiently worked the ball out wide, generating several promising attacks and crosses, though no further goals were added before the break.

The team really stepped up a gear in the third quarter, producing arguably the Goal of the Game. A solid defensive breakdown led to the ball being quickly moved into central midfield before a perfect switch out to the right wing. A quick one-two exchange with the striker set up a decent cross, which was expertly finished with a close-range tap-in. A quick follow-up goal meant the parity rule was applied.

Despite facing less space in the final quarter, the Maroons maintained their attacking intent, adding two more goals to round off a brilliant victory.

The coaches were thrilled with the performance, praising the team's commitment and tactical execution throughout the entire game.

Mylee was tenacious and highly skillful throughout the match. Her highlight moment came when she used a brilliant V-turn maneuver, leaving the opposition's defence "stuck in the mud!" A truly fantastic individual effort to inspire the team.
