The U10 Black team faced a true baptism of fire in their very first game together, delivering a performance defined by exceptional resilience, teamwork, and attacking flair to secure a memorable victory.

The match began with an immediate challenge, as the U10 Black team started with only six players against the opposition's seven. Despite being a player down, the girls were absolutely magnificent. They worked tirelessly to close down space and demonstrated great courage, creating clear-cut chances that could have seen them take the lead. This heroic start, playing 6v7, was a true testament to their character. Unfortunately, against the run of play, the opposition capitalised on the player advantage to score first.

The complexion of the game changed after the first break with the arrival of the 7th player, leveling the playing field to 7v7. Although the team conceded a quick second goal, the added stability soon paid dividends. The girls started to find their rhythm, dominating possession and translating their control into action. The comeback was officially on when Bella, the team's potent striker, netted the U10 Black's first-ever goal.

The game immediately became a thrilling, back-and-forth contest, but the girls began to take command. The composure shown to come back from 0-2 down was incredible. By the end of the third quarter, the team's sustained pressure saw them ahead, establishing a well-deserved two-goal lead!

The opposition refused to give up, however, fighting back fiercely in the final period to score their third goal and bring the game back within reach. With the score tight and the tension high, the U10 Black team needed a moment of brilliance. The crucial goal came courtesy of the clinical Bella, who struck home her fifth goal of the match! This spectacular haul not only served as the decisive goal, sealing the team's victory in their league debut, but also rightly earned Bella the Player of the Match award for her sensational and match-winning performance.

What a fantastic day! To start their competitive life facing a player deficit and still come out with a win shows incredible character. Every single player showed passion and determination. We are incredibly excited to see this group grow and develop as they play more and more.
