Under 8 Performance Squad vs Compton Youth

Our U8 Performance Team faced a challenging fixture against Compton Youth Boys this weekend, securing a nail-biting victory in what was only the girls' third outing in the Boys League. With a full-strength squad available, confidence was high, and the girls certainly delivered on their promise!

The girls came out firing, immediately taking the Compton Youth Boys by surprise with their skill and intensity. Their strong start was rewarded handsomely, as they quickly established a dominant 4-0 lead.

The opposition was forced to react, opting to utilise the parity rule by adding a sixth player to the pitch. This naturally reduced the space and increased the pressure on the girls, but they remained resolute and continued to compete fiercely.

While the Compton boys did manage to pull a few goals back, making the scoreline tighter than perhaps the run of play suggested, the girls demonstrated incredible desire and a crucial cutting edge when it mattered most.

Though the team didn't always display the 'free-flowing' football we have admired in previous games, their resilience saw them through. They found a further three goals to cement their performance and secure their well-deserved first victory of the season!

A massive congratulations and a huge shout-out goes to Sienna, who was deservedly awarded Player of the Match! Sienna delivered a hugely impactful performance, netting an impressive hat-trick and proving instrumental in the team's success.

This talented group has shown huge promise, and their first win in the Boys League is a brilliant testament to their hard work and ability. We look forward to seeing this exciting journey continue!
